What Is PPC Account Ownership?

PPC account ownership should be clear before an advertiser begins working with any outside PPC management provider. In most cases, the advertiser should own the advertising accounts, campaign assets, tracking accounts, and related intellectual property connected to their campaigns.

Blastoff Advertising’s policy is straightforward: the client owns the associated accounts. Whether we transfer in a legacy account, create a new account, or design a campaign, the ownership position is the same. This applies to Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Tag Manager, analytics accounts, conversion tracking assets, and other accounts or tools linked to the campaign.

Why PPC Account Ownership Matters

PPC accounts can contain valuable campaign history, conversion data, ad copy, keyword structure, audience information, reporting history, and optimization learnings. If ownership is unclear, an advertiser may have trouble changing providers, reviewing past performance, preserving campaign history, or maintaining access to important business data.

That is why account ownership should be clarified early in the relationship. The advertiser should understand who owns the account, who has administrative access, what happens if the relationship ends, and whether campaign assets can be transferred without disruption.

Blastoff Advertising’s Approach

Blastoff Advertising does not believe advertisers should be locked out of the accounts or campaign assets created for their business. Clients retain ownership of their accounts and associated intellectual property, while Blastoff Advertising is granted the access needed to manage, optimize, and report on the campaigns.

This keeps the relationship cleaner and more transparent. The client maintains control of the account, and Blastoff Advertising can still perform the campaign work needed to support paid search management, tracking, reporting, and optimization.
